Oxide jacking duration

Purpose: to test and evaluate the time duration for concrete displacement due to oxide jacking in reinforced concrete samples 

Testing variables:

  • concrete mixes
  • type of reinforcement
  • duration of water exposure
  • salt water and fresh water exposure

TYPES OF MIXES TESTED

Mix 1- 1 pt Portland Cement, 2 pt sand, 3 part stone agg, 0.5 pt water

Mix 2- high strength mix- 0.30 water to cement ratio

Mix 3- fiber reinforced modification of Mix 1

DURATION OF WATER EXPOSURE

TESTING RESULTS

Testing Summary:

Reinforced concrete samples (6"x6") poured blocks with rebar variations (miniumum 1.5" cover) submerged in fresh water and salt water tanks.  Blocks were measured at designated intervals to detect any concrete displacement (oxide jacking).  Full testing results available (contact us for more information).
